Safety-Critical Marine Autonomy
Marine AI Ltd, located in Plymouth, is a software engineering firm specialising in edge-based sensor-driven cognitive artificial intelligence (AI) to deliver safety-critical marine autonomy.
Drawing on decades of experience in manned and unmanned marine vehicle design, manufacture and operations, coupled with vast experience in automation and autonomous systems software architecture and computer vision expertise, Marine AI creates cognitive artificial intelligence to deliver maritime autonomy capabilities to support safety-critical operations on and below the water.
Guardian is delivered in partnership with IBM and Red Hat using IBM Systems Power CPUs and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Marine AI has two IBM Systems Power CPU–based products delivering safe manned and autonomous operations, Guardian Manned and Guardian Autonomy which are:
- Scalable at-the-edge sensor-driven hybrid AI (Decision Making, Computer Vision, COLREG/SOLAS/Sailing Directions etc rulesets);
- Limited-bandwidth-friendly actionable information transmission and accurate visualisation to HQ teams;
- Accurate vessel control and safety management via transparent and trustable AI decision-making.
The Mayflower Autonomous Ships (MAS) is the technology demonstrator for Marine Ai’s Guardian system.
Pinpoint is providing marketing and sales support to Marine Ai prior to the MAS launch and to build momentum to get the product ready for the market.
